PLANTED MORE THAN 150 AUTOCHTHONOUS SPECIES IN CABEZO DEL SANTO AND EL MOLINETE

“Maestra”, “La Fuencisla” and “La Gardenia” nurseries have donated the reforestation plants

The last weekend about 40 people, between children and adults, participated in the reforestation day organized by hiking club “Amigos de la Naturaleza”  (Friends of Nature) of Mazarrón. This initiative, that had the collaboration of  Mazarrón Town Hall through Environment council, was developed in Cabezo del Santo and  Molinete area.

The participants planted more than 150 plants that were donated by the nurseries of the town  “Maestra”, “La Fuencisla” and “La Gardenía”. There were a large number of autochtohnous plants, as thyme, rosemary and palmetto, such as pine and other trees. During this week, the participants have been coming to these two areas to water and controle the plants during these first days of life.

And, as the organizers have said, “after this day we want that the reforestation isn´t an isolated acting. So that, with the help of the volunteers, we pretend to carry out the necessary care  for the plants continue developing and see  how they grow in our green areas”. Also they have thanked the support given by the Town Hall “who has helped with the necessary means for the realization of this activity”.

In the activity were Mazarrón Mayor, Ginés Campillo, and Environment council, David Fernández, that participated planting some of the species; and as well were a group of components of ASPADEM association who participated actively with their president at the head, Juan Zamora. As “Amigos de la Naturaleza” have confirmed it is being studied with the AMPA Ginés García the possiblity of repeat this activity.
