THE LOCAL POLICE AND CIVIL GUARD CONTINUE TO MAKE STRONG CONTROLS IN THE MAIN ACCESSES TO THE MUNICIPALITY

During the devices, no movements of citizens from outside the municipality to their second homes were detected

The Local Police of Mazarrón and the Civil Guard have continued this Saturday carrying out strong controls of access to the municipality, especially to the coastal area, before the start of Easter and with the main objective of preventing the displacement of citizens from other parts of the Region or from the rest of the country to their second residences/holiday homes.

Since yesterday, we have carried out around a fifteen of these controls and, until 3:00 pm on Saturday, both bodies have reported that there have been no detection incidents or movements of foreign citizens to Mazarrón. In fact, in 90% of cases the vehicle was occupied by a single person. However some have been detected displaced without a justified cause that have been denounced.

For this reason, as well as for not correctly complying with the confinement and opening limitation rules for the devices that dictate the same royal decree, the Local Police has already filed a total of 140 fines, processing their submission to the delegation from the Government in Murcia to process the corresponding restrictions.

From the Local Police, we have asked the citizens not to share uncontested information or hoaxes that they are transmitting through social networks and it is urged that they be kept informed through the official profiles of the different administrations and bodies and security forces of the State.

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, has stressed "the obligation to comply with the regulations that dictate the Royal Decree  463/2020 of the State of Alarm, complying with the regulations by all" and has recorded that "the violation of these guidelines will imply the imposition of harsh consequences, especially for those who move from other parts of the Region of Murcia or Spain to our municipality.
