THE TOWN HALL CIPHERS IN 8 MILLIONS OF EUROS THE DAMAGES CAUSED FOR THE RAINS ON 28 SEPTEMBER

The town hall requests a firm compromise with Mazarrón to the CHS and y Government Delegation

The Town Hall of Mazarrón has estimated  in 8.070.000 euros the damages that in the infrastructures of Mazarrón caused the rains fell in the region of  Murcia last 28 September. Of this way  was made known yesterday afternoon by the Mayor of  Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and the Deputy Mayor of Planning and Infrastructure, Francisco García, who appeared to offer the details to the Government Delagation in the Autonomous Community of the Murcia Region, which has requested a valoration to the town halls of the town affected for the rains.

The first council showed solidarity with the towns of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras that  “has suffered serious consequences and even has registered human losses. We have to give thanks because only have suffered material losses”. Also, Ginés Campillo congratulated to “Civil Protection, Red Cross and Local Police that last 28th carried out an extraordinary work. The situation was under control  at all times and it was made a good ensemble work with the Hydrographic Confederation of  Segura (CHS) to control the levels of the Rambla of Las Moreras”.

Precisely is in this rambla and its surroundings where more damages have been produced. The Deputy Mayor of Town Planning gave the amounts of each one of the damages among which stand out the 3 millions of euros for the partial destruction of the works of channeling existing in the mouth of the rambla of Las Moreras. Other of the disorders more important has been produced in the rural areas where the roads have suffered damages for 850.000 euros and the destruction of gutters in rural roads over the Rambla of Las Moreras has amounted to 120.000 euros.

The  north area of the town, where passes the rambla of the Canal, also it is very affected for the drain of the rains from the deviation of waters of El Paretón. The total collapse of the bridge in the road of Las Perdigueras over the mentioned rambla implies damages of 800.000 euros as it will be necessary its almost total reconstrution, while that the bridge of Camposol Urbanization, it is very damaged and it is still closed to the traffic, it has been valued in 900.000 euros.

In the coast area, the works of collection of waste that has dragged the rains to the beaches or that has brought the rambla from el Paretón are being undertaken from last Saturday for the Town Hall in an exercise of responsibility. These works have been an investment of 300.000 euros for the municipal coffers. Also, the particular damages in farms rise to  500.000 euros. The same valuation have been the damages in buildings and municipal facilities, while that the streets of the urban areas have suffered damages for value of 400.000 euros.

Campillo and García have requested  “a firm compromise by  the CHS and the Government Delegation as it has been demostrated that  we are part of the solution. If all the water that arrived for the Moreras is not drained or is sent to  Murcia we would be, surely, talking of hundreds of deaths”. For that, has ben requested “that Mazarrón is included inside of the budget that will be destinded to palliate the effects of this gota fría, as we have to restore the damaged facilities before occur a new water coming”.
