THE PLENUM REQUESTS THE DESIGNATION AS BIC OF THE PECIO “MAZARRÓN II”

The plenum approves the renovation of the old collector of Bolnuevo in Puntabela for value of 765.939,24 euros

The Municipal Plenum of the Town Hall of  Mazarrón approved by unanimity last Tuesday a proposal of Alcaldía in which was requested to the general direction of Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Community of Murcia Region, the declaration of the phoenician ship “Mazarrón II” as Bien de Interés Cultural (Cultural Interest Asset)  (BIC), also like the definitive conservation of it in the town. The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, explained that  “this proposal has a doble perspective then, besides of the protection and defense of our pecio, also urges to the general direction of Coast of the Country to undertake the regeneration of the beach of La Isla safeguarding the integrity of this archaeological jewel that we consider  fundamental for the tourist and economic development of the town”. For the first councilor “the conservation of the pecio and the regeneration of the beach, are actions necessary  and urgent for our town that we hope that be undertaken as soon as possible  by both agencies, which have shown interest for these matters in the meeting that I have had with its representatives in Murcia”.

Also it was approved by unanimity the investment  Plan in the Sanitation Red Annuity 2011-2012 that represents an investment of 765.939,24 euros. As explained the councilor for Urban Planning and Infrastructure, Francisco García, “the plan includes the renovacion of the old general  collector of Bolnuevo in Puntabela”. Besides of this renovation, the project also includes “the execution of a secondary branch to eliminate the pumping of the wastewater generated by the toilet of the promenade of the area, the execution of a secondary branch placed in Pedro López Meca avenue, the renovation of the boiler of the Pumping Station of Wastewater (EBAR) of Bolnuevo, the total replacement of the half carriageway affected by the collector adapting the slope in areas with stagnations problems of  rainwater and the replacement of the affected services”, pointed out the councilor.

Other of the points that was approved with the votes in favor of all the councilors of the Plenum was the start of the file of deallocation of the property in which was located the school in the distric of Cañadas del Romero. The councilor for Patrimony, Andrés Valera, said that “once the start of the file be approved, the agreement will be advertised in the Official Bulletin of Murcia Region (BORM) and in the notice board of the Town Hall  so that the interested people can submit allegations that they consider appropriate”. If there aren´t claims, the deallocation of the property will be definitively by the Town Hall.

Finally, the votes in favor of the Government Team approved a  motion of the Municipal Group of Izquierda Unida in which was resquested to the Justice Ministry  that modify the Anteproyecto de Reforma del Código Penal so that exclude expressly of it the actions for reasons of humanitarian and solidarity aid. By the spokesman of the group, David Fernández, “we believe that has made a mistake in the redaction of the anteproyecto that must be corrected in the article 318.bis, because the solidarity never can be a crime”. The motion requested also “go on working in the promotion of the coexistence of the people that live in our town, with independence of their origin, nationality or administrative situation”, pointed out the councilor.
