September 23 to November 12 Mar: Silencios y Enigmas photography exhibition in Mazarron

Black and white images by José Carlos Ñíguez at the Casas Consistoriales in Mazarrón

The photographer José Carlos Ñíguez Carbonell is exhibiting a selection of his works examining the silence and enigmas of the sea at the Casas Consistoriales in Mazarrón until November 12.
José Carlos Ñíguez was born in Cartagena in 1954 and is a doctor specializing in Pediatrics. However, one of his great passions since the 1980s has been photography, in which he is self-taught, and since 2007 he has won a variety of prizes and awards for his images both in Spain and abroad. His photos have been seen in numerous exhibitions and are featured in many private and public collections.
For him the sea is a fascinating topic, leading him to reflect on the dichotomies of space and time, emptiness and plenitude, light and dark and others, and the use of black and white reflects these contrasting ideas.
"Mar: Silencios y Enigmas" can be visited at the Casas Consistoriales in Mazarrón from Monday to Saturday between 10.00 and 14.00 and on Thursday and Friday from 17.00 to 20.00, with the exceptions of public holidays and the last Saturday of every month.
