‘PALS’ CELEBRATES A CHARITY RACE FOR THE CAMPAING ‘FORGET me NOT'

The event will take place on 6th May coinciding with the breaking of the barrier 4 minutes in the one mile race

The association 'Protection and Life Saving' (PALS) celebrates this Tuesday 6th May a charity race that will take place from 20 hours through the streets of Camposol urbanization. The "excuse" to celebrate this good cause will be the 60th anniversary of the breaking of the barrier 4 minutes in the one mile race, which was accomplished for first time by the British athlete Roger Bannister on 6th May, 1954. The race will consist of 1,609 meters and will be disputed by categories.

This race, in which collaborates the Council for Sports of the Town Hall of Mazarrón, and also Civil Protection, Local Police and Red Cross; will serve to raise funds through donations and sponsorships for the 'Forget me NOT' initiative and is open to all nationalities. The campaign is designed to improve the care and support that is offered to the patients with dementia and their loved ones.

Everyone who wishes to participate can come to the council Sports for more information or call to the telephone 968 59 18 52. 'PALS' is an association of the town, mainly composed of foreign residents, which collaborates actively with the Town Hall of Mazarrón, providing continuously diverse medical supplies and whose work was fundamental to the achievement of a new ambulance for the town a year ago.
