The Regional Government prohibits nightlife inside premises. This measure was adopted today at the meeting of the Covid-19 Monitoring Committee, after analysing the epidemiological situation in the Region with the study of confirmed cases in recent days. Yes, terraces or outdoor areas will be allowed in this type of establishment, where clients must be seated keeping safety distances.

In addition, the Monitoring Committee has established the limitation of the number of people in meetings of all kinds to 15 and the closure of day centres in Totana and Cieza. Visits to relatives in residences in Murcia (City), Totana and Cieza will also be restricted.

These are measures that will be reviewed and evaluated to verify their effectiveness. "We must adopt different measures depending on the outbreak, its speed of spread and whether there is community transmission without established transmission chains," explained today the Minister of Health, Manuel Villegas.

The Regional Head of Health indicated that the epidemiological situation today "is worrisome because of the start of community transmission among a sector of the population that is already affecting other sectors".

In this sense, Villegas recalled that those who have been to the Atalayas and Totana leisure venues which were closed this month must remain in quarantine and make an appointment with Covid call centre through the Patient Portal or by telephone.

Finally, the Minister of Health insisted on the "need for individual responsibility and social discipline to deal with the virus", and recalled that "it is essential not to go to a health centre or hospital if you have symptoms or suspicions to be able to have the infection, but you have to make an appointment with the health centre via telephone (900121212) or telematics”.

Active outbreaks in the Region

The number of positive cases related to the flight from Bolivia now totals 105, of which 40 are related to the Atalayas leisure area in Murcia.

The Epidemiology Service has also detected another one originating from the nightclub closed last Saturday in Totana, which already has three positives, and another outbreak after detecting a positive in a patient at the Lorenzo Guirao de Cieza hospital, which has six positives (in addition to the patient, a visitor from the same and four hospital workers).

158 active cases

The total number of affected since the start of the outbreak of this pandemic amounted to 3,570 people, of whom 1,870 have been accredited by means of PCR, according to data from the Epidemiology Service of the Region yesterday at 24 hours. The number of active cases amounts to 158 people.

Twenty people are admitted to hospital centres, one of them in intensive care. The rest, 138 people, remain in home isolation

The number of tests carried out continues to grow, specifically 79,203 PCR tests.
