MAZARRON SEMANA SANTA POSTER UNVEILED AS THE PROCESSIONS RESUME AFTER COVID

The poster was unveiled in the Iglesia de la Purísima

The Easter processions in Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón will take place this year for the first time since 2019

Following the confirmation last week that the Semana Santa processions will resume in Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón this year for the first time since 2019, the Town Hall has rapidly pushed forward with the organization of the Easter events and on Saturday presented the official poster to promote the processions and other festivities.

The poster was unveiled in the Iglesia de la Purísima, where Juan Francico Belmar, the designer, explained that 2022 marks the 40th anniversary of the revival of the Semana Santa traditions in the municipality. The Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, added that the resumption of the processions after two years of their enforced absence due to Covid, will allow the residents of the municipality to once again express their devotion to the Easter events.

The 2022 Semana Santa poster features images related to all four of the brotherhoods which take part in them, according to parish priest Antonio J. Martínez.
