The mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, accompanied by the councilor for Camposol and International Relations, Silvana Buxton, the councilor for Municipal Heritage, Plácida Gómez, and the councilor for Services, Tomás Ureña, went to Camposol to meet two of the associations that develop an important social work for the community.

In the first place, the mayor and the above mentioned councilors went to the social center ‘Los Palacios’ in Sector B, to visit the members of the association 'Forget me not' that meets every Monday of the month, and takes care of dependent people, some of them affected by Alzheimer's so that their family members can have some free time for themselves, go shopping or simply enjoy free time; thanks to the work of the association's volunteers.

The visit also served to check the improvements and arrangements that the City Council has made in said center, as well as others works planned by the Department of Services which will be carried out these next few days such as repairs to doors and windows, improvement in the accessibility railing and adjustments in the municipal office available to the Town Hall.

After this visit, the mayor and the councilors went to the building that the MABS association (a foundation in support of cancer patients) which is on Covachos Avenue. There they were able to see first hand the wonderfull work that said association performs and whose actions include the transfer of patients to-from medical treatment and the loan of sanitary and mobility equipment, among others.

The members of MABS management team also informed the mayor of the realization that a charity race to raise funds will take place on Sunday October 27 under the name 'Race for Life' in which all citizens who wish to take part and thus support the charity can contribute 10 euros in the case of adults and 5 euros for young people up to 12 years.
